Instructor: Peter Hayes

This course will teach students how people grow and change from babies to adults. We will learn about how children form bonds with caregivers, and study different parenting styles. Students will explore how children think and learn, using ideas from Jean Piaget. We will also learn how people develop a sense of right and wrong, with help from Kohlberg’s theory. The class will look at teenagers, including changes in the body, brain, and identity. We will talk about adulthood, including work, family, aging, and illnesses like Alzheimer’s disease. This course helps students understand how people change in the mind, body, and relationships throughout life.
