This unit will help students understand how the brain and nervous system affect how we think, feel, and act.We will learn about neurons, how they send messages, and how parts of the nervous system work together.Students will study the parts of the brain, including areas that help us move, feel, and speak.We will look at tools scientists use to study the brain, such as MRIs and PET scans.We will also learn how genetics (DNA and family traits) can affect behavior and personality.Through simple activities and real examples, students will understand how the brain and body work together to shape who we are.

Meeting Times:

  • Session 1: Friday 5pm-9pm EST 
  • Session 2: Saturday 9am-6pm EST 
  • Session 3: Sunday 9am-1pm EST
