November 3 sessions | 36 Hours In-Person Instructor: James Parise This course gives students an overview of college sports in the United States. It analyzes how college sports are organized, athletic department responsibilities, scouting, revenue opportunities, and why college sports are important in American culture. Students will learn about the role of schools, the NCAA, sports conferences, student-athletes, and sponsorships. The class will also look at current topics such as student-athlete pay, sports media, and new rules about athletes making money from their name, image, and likeness (NIL). Students will understand how college sports are connected to education, business, and the media. The course is designed for those who are interested in American college sports. Meeting Times:
