Instructor: Peter Hayes

Why do some people believe the moon landing was fake? Did secret groups really control history? In this course, students will learn about conspiracy theories—stories that some people believe, but others say are not true. Students will explore why people believe in these ideas, how they spread, and how they affect the world. They will choose a conspiracy theory to research, find out where it came from, and decide if the evidence supports it. By the end of the course, students will understand how to question information, separate fact from fiction, and think carefully about what they see and hear.
